EU-JRDP showcases in the EU & Egypt Partners in Development

EU-JRDP showcased in the EU & Egypt Partners in Development which was held by the European Union (EU) celebrating development partnership with Egypt in the Egyptian Museum on Monday 30th of May 2016. The event was attended by H.E. James Moran the EU Ambassador and Dr. Khaled El Anani, the Egyptian Minister of Antiquities.
The event has showcased various aspects of strategic cooperation in the sectors of rural development, energy, water and irrigation, culture, support to civil society organisations, education, research development and innovation programmes as well as Horizon 2020. The ongoing EU assistance in Egypt is now over EUR 1.1 billion, exclusively in grant form.
The European Union- Joint Rural Development Programme (EU-JRDP) in collaboration with the Italian Development Cooperation Agency – AICS, Cairo Office, attended the event and the main Programme activities were showcased, with a focus on Geographic Indications (GIs) products in Marsa Matrouh and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) as well as irrigation management improvement in Fayoum and Minya.
